Creating a basic sprite Edit
This is a guide for creating sprites using GameMaker 8. If you do not have it, you may download it for free at [] This guide will demonstrate in steps how to create a basic sprite.
Step 1 Edit
Open up GameMaker, and create a new sprite. This should take you to the editor. Name this sprite: "Box". Then, edit the sprite.
Step 2 Edit
Click add a new sprite. This should give you an empty 32x32 pixel sprite. Edit this by clicking the small icon with the pen.
Step 3 Edit
Now, we want the box to be red. Click on the fill icon, and choose the colour red. The sprite should now be a red box, as follows.
Step 4 Edit
We also want it to be half blue. Use the box tool to carefully fill half the box blue.
Step 5 Edit
Almost there! We now want to blur the two colours together, this is where it gets a little more complex. Click on the image tab, then "Blur". From there, click "large", and untick "blur transparency".
This should be your finished sprite.
